Sweet and mild in flavor, the crisp-fleshed, thin-walled fruits ripen from cream-striped green to bright red through all ranges of colors. They measure 8 to 10 cm and 3 cm wide and can be eaten at all stages of maturity, but it is at full maturity that they will be the softest and sweetest. Even the variegated foliage is included to make it an ornamental as well as edible plant. It grows very well in pots thanks to its small size. Scoville: 100 to 500, mild.
