The anthurium is well known to collectors and anyone who loves plants. It is very good as a gift, since it is easy to maintain. Additionally, it flowers intermittently all year round if given the right conditions.

Its beautiful, lively flowers are in fact composed of a bract, therefore a colorful leaf called a spathe, as well as a spadix, the often yellow spike found at the base of the spathe.
