Very large flowers with orange-red petals around an orange-brown cone, from the Sombrero series. Sturdy, compact plants produce a profusion of blooms which appear from mid-summer to fall. An excellent choice for all locations from mixed containers to sunny borders. Very hardy, drought-tolerant and adaptable to poor soils, plants grow to 24-26 inches and spread 18-20 inches. Effective as cut flowers. Cut back close to the ground in late fall after a hard freeze, but give some winter birds a treat and leave a few dried flower heads behind.
