Pretty white blossoms appear in the spring on this dwarf landscape plant, and in summer, dark-purple-black fruit are ready to pick. Watch out, though, this shrub is not called a chokeberry for nothing; the bitter taste of the fruit does make most people choke! Ideal for low-maintenance mass planting, this is an extremely hardy, versatile, groundcover shrub with foliage that emerges a dark, glossy green and turns a gorgeous red in the fall. Beautiful from spring through frost and adaptable to almost any soil type, it thrives in just about all conditions, from cold to hot, wet and dry, sun and shade. Native to North America, Aronia Low Scape Mound was named 2019 Landscape Shrub of the year!
