Lovely, tall, vertically striped ornamental grass that provides exquisite texture and motion to landscape gardens. Foliage has wide, central strips of creamy white that gives way to green edges. Tolerates most types of soil. Almost no pest or disease problems with only minimal care required, which makes them ideal for urban gardens and container growing. Mature plants can withstand periods of draught. Prune back in early spring to 3-5 inches above the ground in order to allow new foliage to grow. Divide mature plants after three years for improved growth and to produce new plants. Flowers emerge in June: first green, then shading to pink or purple over time. Flower heads turn into seeds which eventually blow off.
