Philodendron is a large genus of tropical plants native to South and Central America. These popular houseplants prefer a spot near the window, out of direct sunlight. Place outside in the shade on warm summer days; they’ll thank you for it! Leaves are indeed heart-shaped, and a lovely emerald green. It is a vining philo, ideal for hanging baskets, so cut back long vines to encourage new growth. Be careful; plants are toxic. An excellent choice for absent-minded owners – philos are incredibly forgiving!
