Kumquat trees are native to eastern Asia and cultivated throughout the subtropics. In North America, these are ornamental shrubs or small trees intended for indoor containers that produce tart, orange fruits about 1 inch in diameter that may be eaten fresh or made into preserves and jams. The flowers are white. With their glossy, dark green leaves, branches of the Kumquat tree are often used for Christmas decorations.
