Calathéa

Calatheas are members of the Prayer Plant family, a name they’ve received because of their unique leaf movements: they raise and lower their leaves from day to night! And the Calathea Ornata gets its species epithet “ornata” from the ornate pattern on its leaves. The Pinstripe is an extremely popular, low-maintenance indoor foliage plant. Broad, glossy, dark green leaves with pink stripes that turn white as the plant ages. Reddish-purple undersides. You can place the plants outside, but take care; they need normal to slightly higher humidity and warmth. Moist soil but not soggy. Seldom flowers indoors, but it is pet-friendly!
