Not to be confused with the toxic pasture weed, this ragwort plant is a huge plant grown as much for its foliage as for its flowers. The foliage consists of massive, long-stalked, dark green leaves that can grow to 24 inches wide. Daisy-like orange yellow flowers with brownish-yellow centers bloom on multiple leafless inflorescences, mid summer to early fall. Plants grow to 4 feet high and 4 feet wide and will thrive in partial shade, in deep, moderately fertile soil. Happiest near a water site, they are also suited to mass planting and large borders.
