A dense, evergreen shrub that is extremely hardy and versatile. Needles are a beautiful deep green that emerge soft yellow. Naturally shaggy, it takes pruning extremely well. Will grow to 6 feet at maturity with a spread of 3 feet. Excellent for foundation plantings and hedges. Decorative red berries appear from early to late fall; while they are attractive to birds, the berries are toxic to other animals. Like all yews, it is long-lived. It requires minimal care and is remarkably tolerant of urban air and pollution.
