This is an exotic looking plant with pendulous leaves on tall upright stems. Evergreen grasses may look like grasses, but they’re not actually classified as such. King Tut likes wet places like water gardens and pond edges, and will do very well in containers where the drainage holes have been blocked. It is a fast grower, but not hardy enough to survive winters with freezing temperatures. Greenish brown flower clusters appear late summer, although the foliage is the main attraction. May be overwintered indoors, but is probably best grown as an annual. Heat tolerant. Easy to grow. Fairly disease and pest resistant.
