Wonderful, extra-large fuzzy catkins are the distinguishing feature of this fabulous pussy willow. Catkins appear in late winter to early spring, starting out bright pink and silver and soon maturing to deep black. Great for winter interest, this is a large plant that works well in mixed borders, wildlife gardens and rain gardens, and can be planted as a screen or barrier. Magnificent in cut flower arrangements. Can be grown as an annual. Easy to maintain, but prune regularly to encourage juvenile growth. Plants thrive in moist, slightly acidic soils but are overall adaptable. Deer resistant.
