Also known as hybrid pinks, flowers start off white, transform through shades of pink then mature to a deep rose. The combination of blooms at these various stages, often on the same plant, produce a multi-coloured effect in the garden. Upright, branched flower stems rise from clumps of waxy, evergreen foliage in late spring. Bees adore the fragrant lacey blooms that first appear. Grow in full to partial sun. These are low-maintenance, easy to grow flowers that are ideal for a cutting garden or a mixed border. They grow to 2 feet with a spread of 10-12 inches. “Pink” in the title refers to the serrated edges of the petals that look like they’ve been cut with pinking shears, and not the colour.
