Masses of shaggy white double flowers rest atop stems that rise twice as high as the mounded grey-green foliage underneath. Stems are dark maroon, as are the flower base petals. Flowers are durable, lasting from late spring through to fall and attracting butterflies, bees and hummingbirds. When blooms are spent, remove them and the entire flower stalk down to the base of the plant. Plant in borders and informal gardens or in containers on the deck; they make lovely cut flowers! Plants prefer moist conditions.
